Let’s play Three Questions: New Year’s Edition. OK, I’ll go first. It will be fun, or else it won’t, but the questions are all about you, so you can’t get them wrong.
Ready? Question 1: Who are you? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What brings you joy? What are your passions? When do you feel most alive? What would you do even if you never got paid for it? Go ahead and take some time to think about that. I didn’t say this was an easy game–it’s more like Chess than Candyland, but then, I haven’t heard of any Candyland Grand Masters.
When you are ready, here’s Question 2. Where are you? What’s happening in your neighborhood? (And by “neighborhood,” I’m using Jesus’ definition from Luke 10:25-37) Where are people hurting or vulnerable? What are the felt needs? The unfelt ones? Who or what is tugging at your heart? Again, go ahead and take your time.
Whew! Just one more question, and you can get back to that Candyland challenge. Here it is—Why are you? How does Question 1 connect with Question 2?
Oh, and by the way, Happy New Year!
