I’m posting this to let you know that I’ve published Bakovia and the Quest for Truth under the pen name, D. Edwin Bakker. The book is a compilation of stories that I have written for my family about a mythical land. If you would like to read it, I think you will find it whimsical and humorous. However, I did not write these stories just to make people laugh. I also wanted them to spark serious discussion about culture, worldview, faith, and values among my intergenerational family members. For example:
If you were creating a new civilization, what would be your priorities? How would you preserve and protect your resources? Would you declare yourself king, or establish some other kind of government? What would it be?
If science were to conclusively prove that 72 was not a real number, would you continue to believe in it? Would you use it in your mathematical calculations knowing that everyone would say you were wrong? Or would you reject 72 as being unscientific?
How can I be more confident? Is it arrogant to believe that I am good at something?
What does it mean to follow the Spirit, and how do I do it? How do I deploy the “Armor of God?”
If you read the book, I hope you’ll laugh, and then I hope you’ll think. I’d love to hear your reactions. Here is a link to the book: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Bakovia+and+the+Quest+for+Truth&crid=3GY68MM9BG9C0&sprefix=bakovia+and+the+quest+for+truth%2Caps%2C369&ref=nb_sb_noss
